Our Building may have first opened in 1912, but everything else about 1912 Child Care & Early Learning Centre is brand new. We offer a caring and stimulating environment, giving your child/children a solid foundation for their future by allowing them to learn, grow and have fun.

Services we provide

1912 Child Care Centre implements the National Quality Framework regulations and guidelines; the NQF sets standards and monitors childcare centres Australia wide. 1912 implements a play based learning program and the Early Years Learning Framework curriculum which provides many exciting opportunities for your child to learn and develop based on their individual strengths, needs and interests that encourage them to be their best.

Our Qualified Chef prepares delicious, nutritionally balanced meals and snacks daily. The centre Chef and Director have undergone training in menu planning and assessment and our menu is approved by the Eat Well Move Well Association of Tasmania. Our menu aims to provide a wide variety of foods, flavours, textures and cultural influences for the children to experience. Individual dietary requirements and food allergies will be catered for in consultation with families.

Please note: We are an allergy aware centre and ask that NO nut or nut products be brought into the centre.

1912 Child Care Centre is a member of Move Well Eat Well, managed by the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services, with the cooperation and support of a range of partner organisations and services.

Move Well Eat Well promotes a healthier Tasmania in which children can enjoy healthy eating and physical activity every day. It contributes to a healthy lifestyle.

1912 Child Care Centre has been awarded Sun Smart status in acknowledgement for our past and ongoing commitment of providing sun safe play in accordance with the recommendations of the National Sun Smart Early Childhood Program. UV levels are monitored daily to ensure that our outdoor play times correspond with recommendations and sun safe hats, clothing and sunscreen must be worn.
